Trailer Trash.
I guess mobile homes are necessary.
This one is almost done and will be a good place to live for someone but 1x4 top
plates, 24 inch centers are weak.
First time buyers looking for property only without a full cash payment is
pretty tough now after what our financial lending venders greed did to our
lending system.
We had to get several loans before even going shopping and the one I knew I
wanted to avoid was mobile, then manufactured. Just land would be impossible for
us so stick built was key. We had a zero down USDA first time buyers also and
felt confident.
Then I fell in love with a piece of land and unfortunately it had an 89
Fleetwood on it. That made our loan pool drop to nothing and we had to deal with
a nightmare lady who put us through every screw for 3 months before she would
sign off. I loath this lady. But she made me pay off all our debt and we pretty
much have just a couple large bills. This place, 1250 and our medical insurance,
1200. Ohh and don't forget Propane, 500.
So she did us good but I still am not sure if I would tow her out of some snow,
I might but I may take my time gettin there.
So now as I get close to done with this home on stilts and im laying out plans
for my families home I will build, I stumble on the Timber Frame that Steve from
Renovation Nation built. I fall in love just like I did with this land and area.
Then I find kits. For 10k you can get a 1400 square foot, sheeted, insulated
timber frame kit with a loft. Since we sold everything we owned when we moved up
here 1400 is huge for us. And the loft is 10x20 and may be good for the home
school. So today I go talk with a guy who owns a big ass tractor down the
street. Then down the hill to the permit office.
Its 40 degrees and rained last nite something good.
They wana dam the moke.
Larry has been good, he got a hair cut down the hill and got pissed at me cause
I did not notice. I apologized I had been with my mom as she is sick. We are
starting on getting him a little less dependant on certain things as he
requested. Pharmaceuticals, batteries, and danger. Setting him up a solar
charging smaller power station, a warm shower and sink, a small genset and a
find me spot that sends me a signal for general help and 911 for the boys in the
helicopter. There is a Shaman medicine man in the property above him and is
working with him on getting him off the stuff that is causing his liver and
kidneys to need replacement. The Kanna ice plant is replacing his Prozac, A
nightly Kratom Tea is replacing his vicodin and im sure things will get better
with some compact fluorescents and hot water also, ha.
I have used very few contractors but I have used plumbers as I hate crawling
under there.
I got ripped off one nite on a water heater replacement as mine fell through the
floor it was on. He left a shit pile of garbage and just crappy work I am
redoing and it was expensive.
Then I needed something moved and out comes this wiry eyed cat on speed and
booze. Get out of my house and quit looking at all our shit like your coming
back. I had to give him gas money to get back down the hill. Nose Poison.
Then Ann calls our local hardware store. They send us to 4 people. Ann calls all
4.
2 call for 3 days a day later. 1 calls back right away, 1 no call.
Call back was named Melvin.
Melvin is in a religion very similar to Amish.
Melvin's work is flawless, spotless, to code, 50 an hour, and honest.
Copper repipe entire house. 800.
Ann tips 200 extra on his first job and he comes back in for a couple hours with
more brass and stainless steel stuff.
Melvin is my plumber.
I would consider one of the most difficult tasks so far for me is removing the
plastic, as I had plastic from the well up to the house and the entire house
plumbing was that lawsuit crap plastic flex stuff.
Then all the water bottles and you really cant give kids glass.
"When a plastic water bottle sits in your car in the heat it has allot of its
toxic chemicals released into the water."
That's all I needed to be told.
Paper wrappings, glass with organic milk with no biotics and hormones and clay
on a
plastic table.
Xmas Qin.
Ann asked me when I would build my workshop.
Ha no need.
Tenacity.
I love ya mom.
